The Secret Vatican Plan and the Illegals(Damn we're Busted)

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Its not really "Immigration" Friday here on The Pondering American Blog, but this deserves an entire post. I commented yesterday that there was a lot of anti Catholic bile out there thats involved in the immigration debate. Its often right out there in the open. However this is so absurd it takes the cake. What is sad is that many of the claims made here are made on conservative forums, web sites, and by people involved in this debate. Its quite amazing that these people have not realized that there is serious fellowship and discussion among Catholics and Protestants/Evangelicals today, and that this stuff lost its bite -oh like in the 1930's.
Click on The Big Vatican Secret for all the details(warning- All Internet activities is being monitered by the Jesuits)

Here is an tasty excerpt:
. . the Roman Catholic Church has its own plan of reconquest. She is determined to reestablish the power she once exercised over the civil governments and populations of the world. The pope, along with the Reconquista cadre, views South, Central, and North Americas as being one "from Argentina to Alaska." On several occasions, Pope John Paul II has "consecrated" this "America" to "Our Lady of Guadalupe." The Mexican people streaming across America's porous southern border are Roman Catholics. It is in the interest of the Vatican to establish as many Roman Catholics as possible in the United States of America. The pope and his partners in spiritual crime care little how the job is done—whether illegally or legally—just so it is done.

Sorry, I don't have more time to comment on this post. I am already late for my Knights of Columbus car bomb class tonight. Perhaps later.

A Christian View of the Immigration issue- Part ONE

This immigration debate is heated and a times very emotional. There are people of good will on both sides of this debate. However, I have been disappointed that on a issue that will effect millions that there has been little Christian analysis of this issue. This is particular troubling in the blogsphere where there are countless numbers of Christian blogs. This silence might be similar to why many churches have been strangely slient. Why? Because the laity, the people in pews, do not want to hear their Preachers, Priests, etc talking about it in Church. I've have been hearing- Its none of the church's business stay out of politics!!!! Well folks if Christ can be in our marriage laws, aborton laws, among other things , then he can sure darn well be consulted in our immigration laws. The Hispanic Christians as well as others are demanding that happen also.

Many Catholic documents will be cited, but I think that even those can be used to pray and ponder over by non Catholics. The Catholic Church has had to deal with the issues of migration much longer than many other churches especially those here in the USA.

Interpreting and applying scriptures to modern day problems is a at times a messy business. However I do think the scriptures give us guidance as to the alien in our midst. Do these scriptures advocate open borders, no consequences to those here illegally, or that we take the whole world and their problems into our borders? Of course not. But God seems to be telling us that our laws must be tempered with mercy and justice.
The Old Testament is full of commands to take care of the poor, the oppressed, and the alien among us. Moses had some things to say on the subject it appears. After Moses gave the "Big 10" to the Israelites, he talked about some other issues. In Exodus 23:9 Moses said, "You must not oppress the stranger; you know how a stranger feels, for you lived as strangers in the land of Egypt." Pretty powerful imagery for today. Especially since many of our own forefathers came here to these shores to escape oppression and economic misery. In Leviticus 19: 32-34, God himself reminds Moses :"If a stranger lives with you in your land, do not molest him. You must count him as one of your own countrymen and love him as yourself—for you were once strangers yourselves in Egypt. I am Yahweh your God" That again is God talking himself. Does this mean that GOD advocates open borders and no immigration laws in the current concept of the Nation State that we live in. I think the answer is of course not. But again, it is showing that God is concerned about how people treat the foreigner that is among them.
I think its no secret that many of the illegals in this country are poor and often abused by their employers. The Psalmists talked on these topics. The obligation for us to look at for the poor, the oppressed, and the orphan among us. In Psalm 82: 2-4 , "No more mockery of justice,no more favoring of the wicked! Let the weak and the orphan have justice,be fair to the wretched and destitute;rescue the weak and needy, save them from the clutches of the wicked!" and in Psalm 103: 6 "Yahweh, who does what is right,is always on the side of the oppressed". God yets speaks again in Jeremiah 22: 3-4 Yahweh says this: "Practise honesty and integrity; rescue the man who has been wronged from the hands of his oppressor; do not exploit the stranger, the orphan, the widow; do no violence, shed no innocent blood in this place" . Furthermore, God in speaking to Zechariah in 7: 8-11: "Apply the law fairly, and practise kindness and compassion toward each other. Do not oppress the widow and the orphan, the settler and the poor man, and do not secretly plan evil against one another"
Do these scriptures ,as well as others, play a role in this debate? Under the current proposals millions of familes could be broke up. Children made orphans because their parents are deported. Familes could be starved to death for lack of work. Wives and husbands made widowers for all practical purposes. Should we meditate on God's words before passing something like the House bill that provides no exceptions or process for these people in this situation?

Finally in Isaiah 10: 1-2 :"Woe to the legislators of infamous laws,to those who issue tyrannical decrees, who refuse justice to the unfortunate and cheat the poor among my people of their rights, who make widows their prey, and rob the orphan". Thats pretty tough stuff. Its even tougher since in this republic of ours we elect the legislators. The key here is justice it seems. One must ask that as a a country that has basically allowed this illegal immigration to occur for about 30 years ,in fact profited from it on the whole, that if some proposed solutions are in scripture's words infamous and tyrannical. Should we ponder this verse as we are proposing laws to try to get a very complicated problem under control, or should we should mimic Pilate and wash our hands of the affair and simply deport or starve men, women, and children across the border? Do these scriptures speak to us of any responsibilty we have to the families that are mixed, that is both American and illegal? There are many other old testament scriptures that are revelant that I will link to in part II of this post. The question is, when it comes down to it, do we have a biblical mandate to take care of the alien and to even treat the illegal alien that is among us with mercy and justice. The Holy spirit is not giving us a blue print on how to craft this legislation as to specifics. But there does seem to be a mandate.

New Testament
The New Testament also speaks on this. If you take a step back there seems to an awful amount of wandering around from place to place from jurisidction to jurisdiction in the New Testament.
In fact we see this right off in the book of Matthew where the Second Person of the Blessed Trinity has to flee. In Matthew 2:13-15 the Apostle inform us: "When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. "Get up," he said, "take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him. So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: "Out of Egypt I called my son." Its quite amazing to think that in many ways the Holy Family is almost a perfect picture of the immigrant. Mary and Joeseph depending on the kindness of strangers to find a place to give birth to Christ in a foreign place. Then this interesting episode of fleeing to Egypt. The question has to be asked, was the Holy Family itself illegal immigrants? Don't throw something in anger at the computer screen because I had the moxy to ask that question. There is no definate proof that they were "illegal" in todays understanding. The Holy Spirit does not inform us of the complexities of the Egyptian immigration laws via the Roman Empire. But one does ponder if Joesph checked in with the authorities in Egypt when Herod was doing everything he could to find and destroy the Christ child. For all the illegals that are here from China fleeing persecution , does this scripture have revelance to todays debate? There is much to pray and ponder on this story. Pope Pius the XII had to something to say on this topic. Pope Pius the XII was no liberal, fuzzywuzzy ,liberation theology Pope by the way. In 1952 in Exsul Familia the Pope stated"

The émigré Holy Family of Nazareth, fleeing into Egypt, is the archetype of every refugee family. Jesus, Mary and Joseph, living in exile in Egypt to escape the fury of an evil king, are, for all times and all places, the models and protectors of every migrant, alien and refugee of whatever kind who, whether compelled by fear of persecution or by want, is forced to leave his native land, his beloved parents and relatives, his close friends, and
to seek a foreign soil

For those Catholic political conservatives, as well as other Christians, that say what the American Bishops are saying is just a bunch of liberalism the above should give you pause. More on this incredible encyclical later.

What is one the big messages of Christ?
Matthew 25: 35-40For I was hungry and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you made me welcome; naked and you clothed me; sick and you visited me; in prison and you came to see me. . . . I tell you solemnly, in so far as you did this to one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did it to me.

Mark 12: 30-31This is the first [commandment] must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength. The second is this: You must love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.

When we ask God to give us the wisdom of Solomon in order to make order out of this illegal immigration mess, I think the above quotes from Mark and Matthew must be remembered. To often we as Christians forget that God is calling us to do more than go to mass each Sunday, or say the Rosary, or accept Jesus as Lord and Savior and get saved. He is not only asking us , he is commanding us to do more. There is a theme here that should be pondered. I do not believe that Christ is saying that each of us ,either as a citizen or a country, is compelled to accept all the poor and perecuted folks of the World. However, there does seem to be a message that for those that are blessed much is expected. This should apply to our immigration laws as well. Love our neighbor as yourself. That means the brown skin ones and every other color. Again, a link can be seen from passages we saw in the Old Testament and the New.

One note before I go further. I think in order to try to put Christ in our immigration laws we must first cleanse ourselves of that which impedes that goal. There is a lot of hate going on right now. Not everyone that is against illegal immigration(I think we all are) are racist or hateful. But I do not do live in a pollyanna world. The anger and fear that is present often leads to hate. I have seen it. I am a proud southerner. I have seen first hand how on both sides in the black/white debate in this region how easy it is for people to get blinded. Good Christian people by the way that go church. Part of that is anger and fear and then evolves into hate. . I have experience in it. I lived and still live it. It is s here in this debate on immigration right now. So its important as we pray over this to remember
1 John 4: 19-21 : "Anyone who says, ‘I love God,'and hates his brother,is a liar, since a man who does not love the brother that he can see cannot love God, whom he has never seen.So this is the commandment that he has given us,that anyone who loves God must also love his brother."

Before I leave the New Teatament, I think its important to go back to the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 25:31-46. The Sermon on the Mount has always been a tad disconcerting to me. I think that is one reason why it is in the scriptures because God is trying to get our attention in a big way to warn us that our souls are in danger. What I am talking about our souls being in danger, I am talking about the place that goes by the politically incorrect name of Hell. Now I am not saying that everyone that doesn't support the Bush plan or the Catholic's Bishop's plan on immigration, or is for deporting illegals is going to Hell. That would be wrong and silly to imply such a thing. However I do think that there is a biblical basis that citizens and politicians are held accountable to some degree by their actions. For instance there is a legitimate discussion if politicians that vote for abortion should be prohibited from taking communion. This should be kept in mind. These aliens, even the illegals, are people made in the image of God. We are dealing with persons and not just units of labor or as some folks call them "invaders" and "criminals" Each of these illegals have a human dignity. That does not mean that "illegals" should get anything they want in this debate, but it does inform us that we are dealing with many folks that have become the adopted Children of God himself through their baptism.

In the famous Sermon on the Mount, Jesus is basically using the image of the Shepard seperating the Sheep from the goats to explain what the judment will be like. One gets the impression that folks are pretty surprised that they are in the "goat" category.
Lets look at in full

" “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with
him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we
see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’40 “The King will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.’41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry
or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’45 “He will reply, ‘I tell you the truth, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Now that is pretty stern stuff. Also, I think that most preachers and theologians will tell you that this is not an exclusive list. I often wonder in this debate if Jesus very well might say, "I was an Alien, and you deported me"or "I was 10 year old child and you deported my parents" Think on that for a minute. What would you say to Jesus? But Lord it was a issue of National Sovergnity!!!! But Lord they broke the law by illegally crossing the border 10 years ok!!! Is that explanation going to fly with Christ? Really pray on that and try to picture yourself saying that to Christ if he asked you.

Does that mean we cannot and should not deport some illegal aliens. OF course we should. In fact, one could argue that in many cases we have a duty to do so. But when I think of the possibilty that over 12 million illegals with their children(some of whom are American), will be forced into poverty or persecution this verse comes to mind. Again, the issue I believe is one of Justice. Illegal immigration is a wrong. However, it must be remembered that just because illegal immigration is wrong , that does not make all proposed solutions to that problem moral. One does not execute carte blanche people that shoplifts in our Christian culture. Shoplifting is a problem and I am sure that executing shoplifters would stop thefts at Dillards or Jc Penny's. However the response to the wrong becomes immoral in itself.

I am breaking up this post into two parts. The next post, that I hope to have up by noon tomorrow, will deal with the Catholic Church and other Christian Church's wisdom on this issue. Furthermore I will supply a list of links to Chrisitian resources that are helpful in this debate.

A few more blogs for the Blogroll today

Well, after another 24 hours of basically sleep its seems that I am starting to beat this summertime bug. I am little behind in what I wanted to post so let me jump right into it.
We are adding 5 more blogs that I enjoy going to and are quite informative.

Baseball Crank is a blog that I enjoy greatly. One reason I like blogs is that the blogger's personality can come through. Often its their chance to show off their interest and knowledge in various areas. The Baseballcrank blog is one of those places. This bloggers not only talks a good game of politics but among other things likes, you guessed, it baseball. So if you're into America's two major past times this blog is a must read everyday. This blogger is from the New York area and is also a lawyer.

I am going to put two Brwonback Blogs that will eventually go under my Victory in 08 category. One is Catholics for Brownback. By the way if your particular favorite has a "Catholics for Insert name" let me know and I will put it on. I have an interest in the outreach for the Catholic vote or the lack of by potentials hopefuls. This blog already is alerting us to how some are trying to drag in the scary Opus Dei organization into the campaign. I suppose Opus Dei will be the new Skull and bones. Any way go here for that. Sam Brownback President 2008 is a new blog that is starting to follow and promote a Brownback run. Brownback as well as Huckabee is one of those guys I am giving a serious look at. I suspect that my support might go to one or the other. However, I am still open. This blog looks like it will have potential in keeping us updated on the "unofficial Brownback campaign".

I am putting up a religious site today. Pontifications. Pontifications is a site run by a former Espicopal Priest who is now a Catholic. Great reading. What I like is the discussion that occurs in the comment section at times . Its a great mix of Catholics, Orthodox, Reformed, and Evangelical Christians.

Were you irate like I was at what some were saying in Congress yesterday about Iraq? This statement today from the possible future speaker of the House drives me to distraction. Well, to see what is really happening go to some our bloggers in Iraq. Bandit.three.six is a great Serviceman in Baghdad itself. He is aware of a great classifed secret. That is we are winning. Really we are. To see what he is saying go to this entry here: "Soldiers are consistantly ranked as the most trusted individuals of any profession in America, a fact that I don't take lightly and make every effort to uphold. Please believe me, WE ARE WINNING!!!

That the blogs for today. I am attempting post some thoughts regarding the Christian view of the immigration issue before it hits the witching hour tonight. Plus maybe a few other nuggets as I also try to work the kinks out on this blog .

Being Sick In The Summer

Being sick during the summer pretty much sucks. Sorry for the lack of postings today. However go to A Pink Flamingo blog where she is again examnes the nasty connections related to this immigration debate. If I was over the age of 50 I would be concerned. So go here to learn

I noticed something interesting at Huckabee for President 2008 blog It seems Huckabee has hired a major person to direct his efforts in IOWA. Go here for the details. I think Senator Brownback better get busy. More on him tomorrow as I post a blog that is following his efforts.

A pretty good discussion of the whole concept of Amnesty(Cue dark music and hide the women and children) is discussed by one blogger I will be introducing on my blogroll tomorrow here .Its nice to see a rational discussion of it.

Whew I am already exhausted. Darn summer time bug. This is what I plan to do tomorrow. I have thought a lot about how to tackle this immigration issue on this blog. It will not be the sole issue I talk about but I hope to keep people informed on it. There has been something that has been bothering me as to this issue. That is the anti Catholic bile that other Bloggers and myself have encountered in this debate. To say the very least I am getting pretty tired of it. However I think this might be because of honest misconceptions by some people. For others they just hate the Church and no matter what people say it will continue. I think there has been a simplification on both sides of this debate of what the Church teaches. Tomorrow I hope to give an overview of the Christian teaching on this issue so Catholics as well as other Christians can make an informed political choice . Also four more bloggers to my blogroll will be introduced.

Some Folks Get IT

I promise that immigration will not be the sole focus of this blog. But this issue is one that I will be talking about a good bit. Why? Because the stakes are so high. It does my heart good to see that another blogger is investigating this too. Look at what the Pink Flamingo has to say:.It so good I will excerpt quite a bit.

"The father and mastermind behind the anti-immigration movement. Never doubt it has ANYTHING to do with illigal immigration. It has everything to do with being anti-immigration. This where the whole movement is going. "Rep. Chris Cannon, R-Utah, afterward offered for the Salt Lake Tribune his insight into the Tantonesque mindset: "They are anti-immigrant because they don't like Mexicans coming here and having big families with babies that don't die, that grow up and participate in our society."
Tancredo's hands are not squeeky clean by any account. Here's an expose on he and others who are
dealing with these people. Tancredo is a disciple of Samuel Huntington. And this article from the known racist Center for Immigration Studies is by conservative darling Mark Kirkorian. Doesn't anyone get it yet? Now you may think all of this sounds well and good, but does it?
Okay, let's try it this way.
Taunton is big into Planned Parenthood. They sponsor ABORTIONS. He also assisted in the formation of China's one child policy. More ABORTIONS. Yet our RINO conservatives who are so anti abortion that in South Dakota now, a child who has been raped and is pregnant can no longer have an abortion. But they are enraptured about Taunton because he tells them what they want. I call this Intellectually Dishonest. Don't you? There have been 38 million abortions in the US alone, since Roe v. Wade. These have been advocated by Planned Parenthood, supported by John Taunton. He has the blood of 38 million babies on his hands. Yet the RINO conservatives embrace his other anti-immigration causes. Yet people who support the right to life like Tancredo, Rush, O'Reilly and Hannity are supporting Taunton and his causes. I don't know about you, but I don't support baby killers. They can. I don't. Now, who is the true Conservative Rush or Lindsey who doesn't associate with these people? I knew Tancredo has been cleaning up his racist act, but haven't been able to prove it until now.
"Tanton and his groups also have close ties to
Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-CO), a leading supporter of stricter immigration rules, including a FAIR-supported five-year moratorium on many forms of legal immigration [The Washington Post, 3/25/05]. The Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call described NumbersUSA legislative analyst Rosemary Jenks as "a close Tancredo ally in the immigration reform movement" [1/12/04]. A 2003 article (written by Max Blumenthal, now a Media Matters research fellow) also noted Tancredo's extensive connections to both Tanton and white nationalist activists:
Tancredo also enjoys star status among the white-collar anti-immigrationists of Tanton's network who have courted his support, donating $5,000 to his 2002 campaign through FAIR's U.S. Immigration Reform PAC and thousands more in personal donations. Leaders in Tanton's network have long sought a foothold on Capitol Hill and, through Tancredo, it appears their hopes have been realized.
The close working relationship between the Tanton network and Tancredo is most apparent on the Web site for the congressman's Immigration Reform Caucus. When Salon interviewed Tancredo earlier this year, the Web site contained links to FAIR, NumbersUSA, CIS and virtually every other Tanton creation. It also contained a link to VDare, a white nationalist Web site run by British writer Peter Brimelow that is named after Virginia Dare, the first white child born in the New World. When asked about the link, Tancredo was befuddled and indignant.
After the article's publication, Tancredo scrubbed all links to outside groups from the caucus' website, though he wrote in a
letter to "I had no reason to believe that this online magazine is anything but a legitimate contributor to the vast library of resources on this vital issue. After looking over Vdare's recent work, I have not changed this opinion."

Further she notes

So determined is conservatism's nativist wing that it's even made common cause with radical environmentalists and zero-population-growth fanatics on the leftist fringe. The Federation for American Immigration Reform and the Center for Immigration Studies may strike right-wing poses in the press, but both groups support big government, mock federalism, deride free markets and push a cultural agenda abhorrent to any self-respecting social conservative.
FAIR's founder and former president is John Tanton, an eye doctor who opened the first Planned Parenthood chapter in northern Michigan. By Dr. Tanton's own reckoning, FAIR has received more than $1.5 million from the Pioneer Fund, a white-supremacist outfit devoted to racial purity through eugenics.
Board members of FAIR actively promote the sterilization of Third World women for the purposes of reducing U.S. immigration prospects. And if anything disturbs the good doctor more than those Latin American hordes crossing the Rio Grande, it's the likelihood that most of them are Catholic, or so he once told a Reuters reporter.
CIS, an equally repugnant FAIR offshoot, is a big fan of China's one-child policy and publishes books advocating looser limits on abortion and wider use of RU-486. CIS considers the Sierra Club, which cites "stabilizing world population" fourth on its 21st century to-do list, as too moderate. And like FAIR, CIS has called for a target U.S. population of 150 million, about half of what it is today.
Unlike their counterparts on the restrictionist right, these organizations don't distinguish between legal and illegal immigration. They want the border sealed as a means to a fanciful, neo-Malthusian end. Both sides, however, do share the same intellectual framework -- an overriding pessimism and lack of understanding about markets, which is why both also tend to oppose free trade

She has exactly hit it on the head. Let me also note that in my research on this issue, that I verfied much of the information that sources that she links to have said. So I am not buying the argument that just because some liberal and progressive publications have documented this makes its all balderdash. That is a argument I hear often when I bring up these disturbing facts. The bad thing is that this is the just the tip of the iceberg. It is beyond me why this is not rasing alarm bells with various groups. It seems to me that there should be a serious PRO-LIFE alert going on nationwide. The funny thing is that this isn't really a conspiracy. A conspiracy has to be hidden. I am amazed that a few bloggers using google can find this information but CNN, FOX, MSNBC, the NYT etc has not seemed to have caught any of this information. If I was still Southern Baptist I would be crashing their convention and yelling for them to wake up before its too late. A little note to all people approaching the AARP demographic. People that think like the above are not great friends of the old folks. That might need to be considered especially as to issues like Health care and Euthanasia. In Fact former Governor Lamm of Colorodo who is on the FAIR board has made some interesting comments about the duties of the elderly, aids patients, the critically ill, etc that are pretty disturbing. More on that later this week. To all Social Conservatives and Republicans let me leave you with this. WE ARE BEING USED.

Thank You Mr President Thank You

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Today I was to going write the first of three post on the immigration issue and the dirty underbelly that no one wants to talk about that is associated with it. . That "come to Jesus" meeting that conservatives so badly need can wait a day. The President is Iraq right now meeting with our friend and partner who are engaged in this saga between good and evil . I have just heard the speech he gave to our troops and am pretty much overcome with emotion. It something to grasp that a bunch of mostly18 to 22 year old men and women have more of a grasp of reality and what is at stake than many of the American people and its leaders.

I will post more later. But thank you Mr President. Thank you for being a leader. Thank you for not leading and not consulting every opinion poll. Thank you for realizing that prime obligation of the President of the US is not to be loved but to serve and protect. Thank you that even when your so called "friends" and your supposed base here in the US are sniping at you that you just keep on going and slugging it out. How do you do it President Bush? How do you do it when your friends have even deserted you in hopes of short term political gain? I think I know the answer. Its called conviction and service. Your dad taught you and Jeb well. By the way Happy Birthday President George H Bush. I bet you can have no better President than seeing what your son is doing today. More later, its time to enjoy the moment.

Four Blogs Worth Your Time

Here are some Blogs that I am putting on the blogroll. I will have some biggies of course but there is much wisdom and information outside Michelle Malkim and other big names. These will later be categorized on the side once its gets bigger.

The Anchoress is perhaps the blog I enjoy the most every day especially when she is not on her Bryn Terfel and Kiefer Sutherland kick. (Ladies, there is a little Kiefer Sutherland in the men of your life just begging to get out, it just needs to be encouraged). Anyway if there is an political, intellectual and spiritual soul mate to this Louisiana boy in blog land, it's this anonymous Long Island Lady. She often writes about issues and topics in a such a way that you go "Yeah!! Exactly". She is a conservative, or as she describes herself classical liberal without a home. She is a devout Catholic that lives her faith in all facets of life. More than anything she talks common sense. For a non political view of her gripping writing go here .Take time and read all the posts on the on the pages regarding her brother in laws slow, horrible but yet beautiful death. Those posts gave my mental health and spiritual life a much needed shot in the arm at a very difficult time in my life. She is a true gem among the blogs.

Mike Huckabee President 2008 is an interesting blog that is an unofficial effort to promote a Huckabee run in 08. I will be posting other blogs regarding potential Republican hopefuls in the coming weeks. For instance I am trying to find a a blog for Senator Brownback of similar quality. BTW, his blog layout is similar to what I hope this will look like in the future.(I really need to take a HTML class). I am open to several possibilities this year for the 08 race. Gov. Huckabee is a man to watch and I think he might be one of the potential sleepers. This blog also has links to other Huckabee blogs in other states. These blogs I find are much more useful than the "official" web sites of a campagin. If your pro life and don't think that all solutions to the World's problems is simply to round up all the illegals and Nuke Mecca, then this might be a blog you want to visit in helping you make an informed choice. There is one major major problem with Gov Huckabee though and I feel it must pointed out even though it pains me. As Governor of Arkanasas he is without a doubt a Razorback fan. The hogs are developing into more of a rival for God's own LSU Tigers. I suggest at the earliest possible moment that the good Governor come to Tiger Stadium and pay the required homage and adoration. The Pink Flamingo is a GOP blogger that I will be referencing often. She also has this weird philosophy that the road to victory is not to eat our young or engage in a circular firing squad. This blog is a good asset for information for 06 and 08. I will be linking to this blog on my posts on the immigration issue also . She has taken the time and effort to document some disturbing facts as to whom we might be getting in bed with and the possible agendas these folks have. Hint- Its not really all about "illegals". She is doing God's work and doing her small part to make sure the GOP doesn't committ political suicide for supposed short term gains. She also pegs who the real "rinos" are. More later.

Michael J Totten Middle East Journal is incredible. He is a journalist in the tradition of Michael Yon. He is using the net to get the facts out. His blog is incredible not only for the writing but for his comment section. It is where a wonderful discussion between Jews and Arabs is right now occuring. This is similar to another Lebanese blogger and what is happening on his griping site. I will post a blurb on him later this week. Often its painful and edgy but its a place where healing is starting. These Middle Eastern blogs are going to be a force to be reckon with by the Governments in the Middle East. However, countries like the House of Saud are waking up to disturbing fact. These bloggers are speaking and there is not a darn thing they can do about it. Michael Totten has his finger on the pulse of what is happening in Lebanon and Israel as well as other places. A good and important read. Just remember the comment sections is where often the real suprises are hidden.

An Introduction and What to Expect

Since Blogger has decided to come back from its vacation, I have decided that its time to get this blog going. I have blogged before but because of various personal issues had to stop for a period of time. It was a time to observe rather than to comment. Also ,to put it bluntly, I was worn out in many ways and needed a sabbatical and time to think. Judging at the quality of thought being produced in the "conservative" blogsphere lately, perhaps some should take my example and get a much needed rest and just observe. There is too much overblown and heated rhetoric out there. Too much feeling and not enough thinking. More on that in later posts

On to the links and sort of my policy on linking. First as to the format here. I am not sold on how long I will keep blogrolling as a linking device. We shall see how it works out. I am frustrated that it appears that I cannot separate blogs into separate categories. The problem is even though I am not a newbie to blogging, HTML and other similar topics remains a mystery to me. You would have better luck giving me a high school Chemistry set and commanding me make an asprin than having me make a half decent side bar by fooling around with my template. I spent 4 hours today googling and yahooing for help on how to adjust my template on blogger to make a half decent link list, that at the end I just yelled WTF!!! A word on the internet lingo term" WTF" to my most puritan of readers. It will be the most racy term you will encounter on here I promise and will be used rarely. Sometimes, "WTF" just so puts the point on a thought or issue. However, to assist you may I offer an illustration that was done by one of our brave serviceen in the 4th ID from Iraq.

I chalk some of that to laziness and will make an attempt to study up and improve this site. The links shall be those that interested me and have quality. They will be a gumbo of religious, cultural, political, and military blogs. So on to today links. I will try to add 4 a day in order to give them the proper introduction till I get my entire blogroll up. By the Way I liked to be linked :).

Politics will be a major focus here. I implied earlier that I felt that political blogs in the conservative area have gone to the dogs. How the blogs have handled topics such as the war on terror, the Dubai terminal deal, and the current immigration debate has left much to be desired. It seems that even some of the past great conservative bloggers have become nothing more than one big echo chambers ranting in the dubious tradition of the liberal blogger Kos and like minded padres. Hint, if your idea of conservative discourse is calling our Commander in Chief "Presidente Jorge" , then it is likely you will not deem my serious consideration. This is not my first trip in the political arena and after many years I can recognize what throwing red meat to the lions is and why its done.

Christianity and society is another topic, I will post my thoughts for the folks to ponder. This will have a Catholic emphasis but not an exclusive one. There are many fine Evangelical, Protestant, and Orthodox blogs that are quite compelling.

Foreign affairs is another area I hope to focus on including some of the finest writing that is occurring by military bloggers. The writing of our troops for instance on the front lines in Iraq and Afghanistan is simply compelling. I hope its being preserved some place. Also the revolution in society that is happening in the Islamic world, fueled by bloggers is amazing. I hope to show some insight into that World.

Later tonight I will profile my first four bloggers of interest as well as dive head first into the immigration issue and what we really should be concerned about.

Back After Technical Difficulties

Well, sorry for the delay in posting. It seems that Blogger was upgrading all week. I had a devil of a time logging in to my account. So much has happned this past week. The most dangerous terrorist has been killed(Thank God and may the Lord have mercy on his Soul). I will comment later on the WOT. Our on going struggle will be a topic that I will hopefully have an opportunity to talk about in more detail in future posts. Now on to business.
